I'm Zach Cunningham

I'm a second year Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology major at Western Carolina University, expecting to graduate in Spring 2026.

For years, starting with my first game consoles, I've had a passion for tinkering. I got a little more hands on starting with software based stuff that didn't really matter if I broke "everything" on it- setting up crosh on my Chromebook in 7th grade was a huge feat for me at the time. Now I build computers for friends as a regular hobby, enjoy soldering, and am actively learning more about system circuits and hardware development as I progress through my major. I'm also learning more daily about server management.

In a more professional sense, I've been interning with MyGeek Technologies in Lexington, NC for my Summer work and working at Western Carolina University's Technology Commons during the regular semester. I have experience with MATLAB and Arduino (C++ based code), Python, software troubleshooting and consumer hardware, system deployment, circuit design using AutoDesk's Eagle as well as Fritzing, entry level 3D design using Fusion360, OnShape, and TinkerCAD, and more. I've kinda been all over the place, but I love doing all of it.

Currently, I have built my own personal server for FTP and SSH, and am learning web development with my little spare time so that I can deploy and self-host a dedicated HTML-based website under my own domain. There's definitely a lot more in this project than I anticipated, but I will announce the distant (but inevitable) release via my my LinkedIn when it's complete! (For now, it lives here on GitHub.)
